"Today, it is a great honor to accept the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize"
We wonder what was going through the young minds of Beatrice Fihn's kids when they heard her say those words on December 10th, 2017.
We wonder what was going through her own mind.
And we'd love for you to join us to find out, at an extraordinarily special event on April 26th, 2018.
Last month, we joined forces with the United Nations Foundation's Global Moms Challenge and the Women's International Forum to launch the World's Biggest Mama Meetup, a celebration of mothers as leaders and changemakers. Now, we invite you to hear from one of the strongest mama-leaders of our time.
Beatrice is the Executive Director of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize-winning campaign coalition that works to prohibit and eliminate nuclear weapons. She accepted the Nobel Peace Prize and delivered the Nobel Lecture in Oslo on behalf of the campaign, along with Hiroshima bombing survivor, Setsuko Thurlow. She has over a decade of experience in disarmament diplomacy and civil society mobilization. And she credits motherhood for many of the strengths, capabilities and characteristics that have fueled her success.
